Charaktertanz
Charaktertanz is integral part of ballet repertoire. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance. Many ballets feature character dance such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and Coppelia. As well as being highly social incorporating partner and group work, character dance develops excellent rhythm and musicality. It is often danced with props such flower garlands head dresses and scarfs.
