About Sophia Aregger
Sophia Aregger is a versatile and accomplished professional dancer and musical theatre artist. Her journey began at the Ballet Academy Luzern, where her comprehensive training earned her the Pre-Professional Diploma in Stage Dance in 2017, alongside her “Matura” certificate from the Sursee Cantonal School. This foundation led to her acceptance into the prestigious London Studio Centre in the UK, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Theatre Dance in 2020. During her studies, she excelled in lead roles such as Maria in West Side Story, the Maniac from Flashdance, and performed in El Tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge. Her talents were also showcased at Move It, one of the world’s largest dance events.
Sophia launched her professional career performing at the British Movement Awards under choreographer Stephanie Martis and making guest appearances on the RTL television show Let’s Dance. She made her musical debut in The Prom as Kaylee and went on to perform in On Your Feet at Le Théâtre Emmen. Her career highlights include roles in Jack the Ripper at the Zeltpalast Merzig and Robin Hood at the Deutsches Theater Munich, as well as in Hameln, Zürich, and Linz, where she portrayed Alys. Most recently, she captivated audiences in Wonderland at the Landestheater Linz.
In addition to her performance career, Sophia is a dedicated guest teacher and choreographer. She frequently returns to the Ballet Academy Luzern, where she instructs workshops, leads classes, and creates original choreographies for competitions and shows. Reflecting on her journey, Sophia says, “It is always a great pleasure to return to my roots and inspire the next generation.” She attributes her success to the exceptional training she received at the Ballet Academy Luzern, which provided her with the foundation to pursue a dynamic career on stage.
Sophia Aregger’s career continues to thrive both in the UK and internationally, driven by her passion for dance, commitment to artistic excellence, and dedication to inspiring others around the world.
